THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE MODERN WORLD
The seven wonders of the modern world are architectural beauties around the world and also, they have been recognized as humanity’s patrimony by UNESCO. These wonders were chosen by vote in an international competition and they were conducted by a private company called New Open World Corporation, this company was inspired by the wonders of the older world.
PETRA CITY IN JORDAN
Petra is an important architectural work in Jordan, and the ancient capital of the Nabataean Kingdom. The name Petra means rock, because this city was excavated and carved in stone.
The settlement of Petra is located in a narrow valley, east of the Arava Valley which stretches from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba. It was founded in antiquity by the end of seventh century C. by the Edomites, was occupied in the sixth century C. by the Nabataeans.
The buildings in this city are carved into the rock. This city was incribed on World Heritage List of UNESCO in December 6th 1985. The area surrounding the site is considered National Archaeological Park since 1993.
THE ROMAN COLISEUM
It is a great amphitheatre of the epoch of the Roman Empire, constructed in the 1st century in the downtown of Rome.

The Taj Mahal is a complex of buildings built between 1631 and 1654 in the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, by the Muslim emperor Shah Jahan of the Mughal dynasty. The stunning set was erected in honor of his favorite wife, Arjumand Bano Begum - better known as Mumtaz Mahal

MACHU PICCHU
(Machu Picchu mean "Older Mountain") it is the contemporary name for a older Inca of stone. It town was built mid-fifteenth century on the rocky promontory that connects the mountains and Machu Picchu Huayna Picchu
Machu Picchu has been considered both an architectural work and engineering. It’s the destination more popular of the world. The literature published of the town has been inspired on this architectural work.
Machu Picchu is on the List of World Heritage of UNESCO since 1983. It is a part of a cultural and landscape ecological called Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
On July 7, 2007 Machu Picchu was declared one of the new wonders of the world in a ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal.

GREAT WALL OF CHINA
Great wall of China is an ancient fortress built and rebuilt between the V century a. C. and the sixteenth century to protect the northern border of the Chinese empire during the successive imperial dynasties from attacks by the nomadic Xiongnu of Mongolia and Manchuria.
This wall is 8851.8 kilometers long, from the Korean border at the Yalu River border to the Gobi Desert. Today remains only 30% of it. It measures 6 to 7 feet high and 4 to 5 meters wide.
The wall was considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. Much of the Great Wall is reputed to be the largest cementery in the world. Approximately 10 million workers died during construction and were not buried in the wall.
CHRIST REDENTOR
The statue is located in the Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro and it is considered the best art deco statue of the world.
It measures 38 meters in height, it weighs 1,145 tons, located at a height of 709 meters above sea level. It was opened in October 1931. This construction was done in five years and was recently remodeled.
The statue is a Brazilian National Heritage. Recently in 2003, a series of major works were opened, including escalators and elevators to provide access to disabled and elderly. This architectural work is a symbol of all Brazilians and it is a symbol of devotion for millions of Catholics in Brazil.

The archaeological zone of Chichén Itzá was inscribed on the List of World Heritage by UNESCO in 1988.3 On July 7, 2007, was recognized as one of the New Wonders of the World, a private initiative without the support of Unesco, but with the recognition of millions of voters around the world.
